Little Swimmers

I have been trying for weeks to get a photo of this family of swans. They haven't been down at their usual spot on the lake for a while. I was hoping to get some distant photos of them. Today I was on my way home from the Clinton Thrift Shop and they were right there on my side of the lake. I pulled over right away to snap a ton of pics of them.

I was afraid I would startle them and they would flee before I could get a good shot, but instead they seemd curious of me and came even closer. I think this one is the father. He wanted to make sure he was between me and the other two. Isn't he handsome!

Aren't they a lovely family? They are called Mute Swans. They don't talk much, but they do hiss sometimes. I have seen a male go after a whole gaggle of geese that go too close before. This one didn't hiss at me at all though. The baby kept dunking his head under water to eat. So cute.

Click on the pics above, it will enlarge so you can see the details.
This post is short, I just really wanted to share these with you. I will have a post tomorrow I want to show you all the cool thrift shop finds from this week. Plus a few other pretty crafty finds.
Here's a little peek at one of my treasures!!

I love the family of swans and the cup and saucer, it is very pretty.
Thanks so much for the recipe. I did email you back but I noticed today that the message failed for some reason so I will try and sort out why. Anyway, I may just give the recipe a go but I'm not sure if can get some of the ingredients.
Hope you have a lovely weekend.
